Submission requirements for the journal are kept simple on purpose. The journal submission must be short and to the point. Authors are supposed to fill in the following forms:

  • Title: Title for your paper
  • Tags: Tag your paper based on phenomena, dataset
  • Author Names: Names of author and co-authors
  • Figures: Upload figures and provide annotations for the figures
  • Figures Legend: Description of the figures
  • Background: Give some background information on the Phenomena being observed in the dataset [500 words or less]
  • Relevance: Describe why it’s interesting and important to catalog [500 words or less]
  • Data Information: Provide complete information on how this dataset can be obtained by others. The information should contain information like URLs to online datasets, URLs to search and order sites where the data can be ordered, data granule name and other details that would make ordering the dataset easy.
  • Spatial Information: Spatial location of the phenomena in latitude, longitude
  • Temporal Information: Date and time of occurrence
  • References: References used in describing the background and the phenomena. Please also cite papers if the phenomena has been analyzed in previous studies.

Submission Steps:
1. Fill out the forms described above.
2. You can either save your article as a draft, this allows you to come back and edit it anytime later. You can access your draft by clicking on the "Your Articles" on the menu option under your name. Or you can select "In-Review". Selecting this option will automatically send the article to the Editorial Board. 3. If the editors suggest revisions, the article will be automatically switched back to "In-Draft" state. Once you access your article, you can see the suggested revisions by selecting the "Workflow" tab as shown in the image below

4. You can now make the necessary revisions and  resubmit the article by changing its state back to "In-Review". You can also respond to the suggested revisions by posting comments in the Workflow log. Snap shot of the comment form in the Workflow log is shown below.
